The San Luis Obispo County Democratic Party (SLOCDP) will host a candidate meet and greet on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, from 5:30 until 7pm at the Plumbers and Pipefitters Office at 3710 Broad Street in San Luis Obispo. All endorsed candidates and representatives of Democratically-endorsed issues have been invited to attend.

Two of the Democratic candidates who will be there were endorsed earlier this year: Heidi Harmon, candidate for Assembly Member, 35th District; and Caren Ray, incumbent Supervisor, District 4.

Incumbent Jan Marx received the endorsement for Mayor of San Luis Obispo. Two candidates for SLO City Council, Carlyn Christianson and Dan Rivoire also received endorsements.

In the Grover Beach Mayoral contest, John Shoals was endorsed and in Paso Robles, Steve Martin received the endorsement for Mayor.

Mary Matakovich was endorsed for a seat on the Port San Luis Harbor Commission.

In addition to candidates, the local Party also endorsed a number of bonds, including Atascadero Measure F-14 (Road improvement), Grover Beach K-14 (Street Bond), City of San Luis Obispo Measure G (Sales Tax), the San Luis Coastal District School Bond, Measure D 14, and Measure L, the Cuesta College District Bond.

The part also endorsed the opposition of Measure C-14, the Arroyo Grande Charter City measure.

The public is invited to attend this gathering to obtain information about all of these candidates and measures. There will be an opportunity to talk about the issues and to volunteer to work on any that are of interest to attendees.

    Light refreshments will be served.
