In keeping with Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s strong commitment to involving the local community in matters concerning the decommissioning of Diablo Canyon Power Plant (DCPP), the company is announcing today that applications are now being accepted to form the Diablo Canyon Decommissioning Engagement Panel.

This local, non-regulatory stakeholder group will consist of up to 11 members who will provide community input to PG&E as we prepare the site-specific plan to decommission DCPP.  The details of this plan will be included in the next Nuclear Decommissioning Cost Triennial Proceeding filing with the California Public Utilities Commission in 2019.

A panel formation committee that is comprised of representatives from the local community and PG&E will select panelists who broadly reflect the diverse stakeholder viewpoints in proximity to DCPP. We anticipate that the full panel will be selected by early April and for the first meeting to occur later that month.
