San Luis Obispo County Democratic Party Internship Program
The San Luis Obispo County Democratic Party (SLOCDP) is relaunching our 10-week internship program for Cal Poly students in journalism and political science and qualified junior college students.
Our goal is to create one of the most sought-after civic engagement internships in the county: a selective, professional program that provides students with hands-on experience in campaign, communications and policy, while building the next generation of Democratic Party leaders.

SLOCDP Food Drive
The Trump Administration and his supporters in Congress are using starvation as a political weapon. Like their illegal, violent immigration policies, cruelty is the point.
On Saturday, Nov. 1, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) officially stopped providing money for basic food security for 42 million Americans struggling to stave off hunger on an average $6.20 each per day. This includes some 31,000 SLO County residents using the CalFresh program. There’s also 600 federal employees in our county who aren’t getting paid due to the government shutdown.
We’ve got a plan to help.
Please bring non-perishable items (nut butters, canned goods, beans, pasta, dry cereal and grains) to SLOCDP HQ (info left). These items will be donated to the SLO County Food Bank.
The Paso Robles Democratic Club is collecting donations every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Downtown City Park along Spring Street.
The Cuesta College Democratic Club is promoting the “Cougar Food Pantry” to fellow students whose CalFresh benefits are being suspended. Locations are at the SLO campus (room 5104A) and Paso Robles campus (room N1005).

Volunteers are staffing the office to greet visitors, answer questions, and offer resistance activities such as messaging elected officials and creating protest signs for the many county, state, and national events opposing our loss of liberty.
