Hands Off Our Courts! Human-Shield Protest & Rally
On this National Day of Mass Mobilization, SLO County opponents of American authoritarianism will rally at the SLO County Courthouse. The courts are our last defense against the MuskTrump assault on our fundamental constitutional freedoms. The judicial system is now the focus of their latest attacks. The MuskTrump regime is defying federal court orders, undermining the authority of the judiciary, even calling for warrantless invasions of our homes! Flouting court decisions collapses the rule of law -- a danger to us all. Join up to form a human protective shield around our SLO County Courthouse to raise our voices against the corruption, cruelty and lawlessness of the MuskTrump regime. Don't just be angry -- act now! Tell Them Hands Off! Sign up here to help with this event.

Jimmy Panetta In Person Townhall
As your United States Representative, I believe that protecting Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid is non-negotiable. These vital programs support millions of Americans, including retirees, disabled workers, survivors, children, and seniors. They must remain strong and accessible. But right now, these benefits are under serious threat.
Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) are pursuing a reckless overhaul of the Social Security Administration. Their plan is to shrink the workforce by 12%, close nearly 50 field offices, and slash staffing for processing claims, appeals, and benefit payments. Call wait-times have already doubled, and these cuts could risk technical outages, disrupting payments to more than 73 million Americans.
Meanwhile, House Republicans are pushing massive budget cuts that could gut Medicaid, raise health care costs for working families, and put food assistance for thousands of Californians.
I’m hosting a town hall in Cambria at the Veterans’ Memorial Hall (1000 Main St, Cambria, CA 93428) on Thursday, March 20th from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM to hear from you and talk about how Congress is fighting back and working hard to protect the benefits that you and your family have earned.

Jimmy Panetta Virtual Townhall
From Jimmy Panetta:
I will be hosting a virtual town hall to discuss Social Security and the overhaul of this agency by the Trump Administration. I am planning to have former Social Security Commissioner and former Governor of Maryland, Martin O’Malley, on the line as a special guest to discuss Social Security issues and to answer your questions. I believe that this is such an important issue and an excellent opportunity to hear from Commissioner O’Malley that it is necessary to conduct this town hall by telephone so that the entire constituency of California’s 19th Congressional District can participate.
Join the discussion and participate by either:
Signing up to receive a call at the start of the event: https://panetta.house.gov/live
Dialing in directly by calling 833-380-0413 at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, March 18th
Listening live online at https://panetta.house.gov/live
Social Security is a critical lifeline for millions of Americans, ensuring retirees, disabled workers, and survivors receive the benefits that they have earned. In California’s 19th Congressional District, over 140,000 people rely on Social Security, with $282 million in benefits distributed each month. Americans count on the Social Security Administration (SSA) to be responsive and effective, and that is why we must do everything we can to strengthen Social Security. However, the SSA is currently undergoing a massive reorganization that is being driven by Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which could easily weaken the agency and potentially collapse the system.
Be on the lookout for additional opportunities to connect in-person and virtually.

Postcards to Trump
On March 15th, mail Donald Trump a postcard that publicly expresses our opposition to him. We, in vast numbers, from all corners of the world, will overwhelm the man with his unpopularity and failure. We will show the media and the politicians what standing with him — and against us — means. And most importantly, we will bury the White House post office in pink slips, all informing Donnie that he’s fired.
Each of us — every protester from every march, each congress calling citizen, every boycotter, volunteer, donor, and petition signer — if each of us writes even a single postcard and we put them all in the mail on the same day, March 15th, well: you do the math.
