The Democratic Club of San Luis Obispo and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 639 are hosting a barbecue fundraiser for Democratic supervisorial candidates Bruce Gibson, Dawn Ortiz-Legg, and Jimmy Paulding. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet the candidates and hear their plans to overcome the odds and how they intend to make SLO County a better place to live when we have a Democratic majority on the Board of Supervisors.

Why

Our candidates are locked in some very tough races to overcome the cheating of the MAGA Republicans who redrew the supervisorial district maps in an effort to lock in minority rule in SLO County for the next 10 years. Gerrymandering is cheating, plain and simple, and we have to do everything we can to support these campaigns.

Who

In the gerrymandered District 2, Gibson is being challenged by two right-wingers, one even more extreme than the other. In the gerrymandered District 4, Paulding is trying again to unseat mean girl Lynn “you can’t sit at my lunch table” Compton, while Ortiz-Legg takes on MAGA fangirl and D.C. insurrectionist Stacy Korsgaden for the old District 3 seat (yes, in an odd twist, Dawn has to run in the old, pre-Patten-map District 3 to finish out Adam Hill’s term, which means some voters in that district will get two votes instead one).
